Users can record WAV files, connect a MIDI keyboard using a USB/OTG cable for Android Honeycomb 3.1+ or Bluetooth Low Energy for Android Jelly Bean 4.3+, and take advantage of a small step sequencer. Additionally, an optimized layout allows even small devices to utilize two synthesizers for enhanced musical possibilities.

To streamline usage, complex functions are only accessible in "expert mode," which can be activated through the setup page. This includes the patch editor and the new micro-tuning feature. During play, the SynprezFM 2 offers additional performance parameters above the keyboard. These parameters include two types of portamento, a sensitivity range for pitch or volume modulations, and effects that create a sense of depth, especially when using headphones. The polyphony can also be adjusted to match the capabilities of your device.

The latest update of the SynprezFM 2 includes bug fixes and exciting new features. The bug fixes address numerous annoying issues, while a pseudo compressor feature enables a louder sound. MIDI support has been expanded to accommodate more MIDI controllers, and the storage access has been rewritten to solve initial access problems and support Android 11+. Additionally, the update fixes the pitch discrepancy on recording (48K vs 44.1K).

The new features introduced in this update include wireless Bluetooth MIDI support, MIDI slave support, support for multiple MIDI keyboards, finer volume and balance scale wired on MIDI, "Scoped Media" storage mode (mandatory for Android 11), a peak indicator on VU-meters, drop-down menus with pseudo LCD, output volume operating after the FX processor, and a description of device capabilities in the configuration page. The improved MIDI traces also help diagnose problems.
